Safety island of Socotra
Despite its affiliation with Yemen, the island has long been considered a safe destination for travelers. Thanks to its geographical isolation and specific position, the island is completely outside the war conflicts that affect the mainland of the country. Tourism on Socotra is organized and controlled, in cooperation with local authorities and licensed guides. The security situation on the island is fully under the control of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which ensure the supervision of the airspace and political stability of the region. Thanks to this international control, the island has long-term peace and stability.
Why is Socotra safe:
• The island is isolated and stable, without armed conflicts
• The locals are very friendly, hospitable and respectful
• Tourist groups are small and well organized
• Movement is carried out with local guides and drivers
• Tourism has been operating safely here for many years
There is no unrest or crime against tourists on the island. Socotra is an exceptional and at the same time safe destination, suitable even for clients who normally avoid exotic countries for security reasons. Travel to the island is standard and without extraordinary security restrictions.
So, you can enjoy everything Socotra offers as much as you like.
And that's exactly what I experienced during the whole week spent on the island of Socotra. A harsh, mystical place, full of breathtaking nature, beautiful, cheerful, modest, friendly, humble and poor people who can rejoice in the truly little.......
I don't write reviews. It bothers me that everyone asks for them and I'm a rather introverted person and I would rather share my experiences in person than go into detail somewhere and explain why this or that was great or not so great :-D
However, the trip to Socotra organized by Socotra Exclusive Tours was so interesting that I decided to write a review.....
